  • You do realize if McCoy beats Tebow in the NCG, McCoys win % will be better, right?

    Plus McCoy will have scoreboard

Do you concede that if Texas beats Florida, that McCoy > Tebow?

  • I never said Manning was. He was a college choke artist.

But would you take Nordgren over Manning? If you would, wow

But Nat'l titles as a backup don't count. And yes I realize Tebow contributed a little bit to that 2006 team. But he was the backup.

He has 1 NC as a starter.

Sorta weird how selective stats work, eh?

HAHAHAHAHHAhA. Ya, I pointed that out to Guilf (Owner of this blog). He stopped replying after that.

A Texas QB washout beat the big baaaaaad Gaytors in the Swamp. Accounting for 3 touchdowns, only 1 turnover.

Thats pretty sad that even our JV guys can beat Florida.
So what will the varsity QB do?

  • Stats Manipulation
Your delusion has reached epic status. John Brantley, a guy who cant even beat out a Fullback who throws, would beat out the winningest QB in NCAA history?

Oh, hey. Even Texas backup Qbs can beat your chump Florida team ;p Jevon Snead says: :( .. I couldnt even beat out McCoy, but I beat Tebow :)

  • Gerhart for the Heisman…really?
I hate to defend Tebow, but he did win it in a Big down year for cfb. There was no one out there more deserving.
  • Tebow vs. McCoy
Playing against what pass d's? I don't know of many great NFL DB SEC players the last 3 yrs.

McCoy will go down as the all time Completion % leader (Not to mention having a record that probably will never be broken, his 76.6% comp%)

The reason no one except SEC/Gaytor fans are taking you seriously, is because you have zero objectivity. You're skewing/manipulating stats to favor your boy Tebow.

You would never dream of posting stats that make your guy look bad.

  • Tebow vs. McCoy
Well, if you're going include Tebow's 2006 ring as a backup, then you have to include McCoys 2005 ring as a redshirt.

We're talking about STARTING QUARTERBACKS GENTLEMEN.. Not backup nobodies

Nice job showing that the only way McCoy's stats are better is because he's started WAY more games against MUCH easier competition and thrown WAY more passes.

While I'm definitely Pro-McCoy, I think the idea of trying to prove one is better than the other is really fighting an uphill battle. Both played good teams, both played shitty teams, both put up astronomical numbers. McCoy will finish with most wins and probably highest passing % in the history of the NCAA. Tebow has been ridiculous running the ball and has an incredibly TD/INT ratio. Trying to say one is definitely better than the other is pretty much impossible. They're both amazing players, and it's a shame that (It looks like) they'll only get to meet on the field one time in their entire careers.

There was an entire year where Tebow played QB AND RB for Florida, so his rushing numbers are a bit inflated. I would be genuinely curious to see how many of Tebow's TD runs were for less than 10 yards vs more than 10 yards. And the same comparison for McCoy. Has there been another QB with almost 700 rushing attempts? Even VY, who was regarded as a running QB only had 450. He also had more yards too. Just saying.

And I don't put that much faith in those "Conference Power Rankings" the SEC is on TV the most, more people see them. When you see a Kentucky/Vanderbilt game come down to the wire, you're gonna think those teams are better than Kansas beating the dog piss out of Iowa State. This is like in the 80s and 90s when Notre Dame was one of the few teams on TV ALLLLLL the time and therefore everybody thought they were the greatest team ever.

Justin, you never disappoint. The Sagarin power ratings are all computer based. Has nothing to do with television time. And Tebow leading the number one team in rushing and passing is a BAD thing? I didn't want to put opinions in this one – think the numbers say everything.

You've been a ton of fun. Hope you guys do well tomorrow and everyone stays healthy.

Oh no, I am not at all saying anything negative about Tebow's stats. I'm just saying over half of his 56 rushing TDs came in one season, when there was no other running game option at Florida. I mean seriously…who was the starting RB that year? Brandon James? I don't know why that name sounds right to me, but it does.

And you still didn't respond to my requests. Tebow TD runs of <10yds vs >10yds. And has there been another QB with 700 rushing attempts in his career?

No offense but who cares how many TDs were from less than 10 yards out, he is the quarterback not the fullback. I guess we should discredit some of McCoy's TDs since many of them were just 15 yard passes that receivers made subpar defenders miss on tackles and ran 50 yac for the score.

LMAO @ "he is the quarterback not the fullback." You sure Urban knows that?

SMH @ your entire comment. I never said anything about discrediting his TDs, I was just curious how many were for more than 10 yards. You don't have to get so defensive buddy.

And really, isn't the point of playing QB & WR to complete short passes and then make somebody miss and take it to the house? Should every QB throw the ball 40 yards on every play? LOL.

    Lol @ using Sagarin.

Oh hey, did you guys hear? NC's as a backup count.

    Look at this

    National Championships
    Matt Nordgren: 1
    Peyton Manning: 0

Guess Texas' 2005 backup QB Nordgren is better than Manning.

In the college game, Nordgren had the ultimate success. Manning did not. Manning also never beat Florida. I'd bet he wouldn't claim to be the best COLLEGE QB ever.

A LOT of "ifs" there. We have a team I'm worried about this afternoon. Undefeated in the SEC garners respect from me – even this year. If we both get there, we'll talk about what a win means.

Good luck in the game today – hope all make it through healthy.

Now you're fighting sleep my friend. You can't post selective stats that make Tebow look better and say they are a true valuation of the players, but when somebody posts stats that make McCoy look better you say that it doesn't count.

I would take 3rd down and red zone efficiency over most of those other stats anyways. I want a guy who can extend drives and score in red zone more than a guy who can run for an extra yard per carry in the middle of the field.

Suh should win the Heisman. Outplayed everyone on Saturday night, and did all season. Best college football player of 2009. Guy gets double teamed, held on most every play but never a holding call? Still tacks on 4.5 sacks and many QB hurries. The guy is a flat out stud, at DT nonetheless.
